(My '61 Impala rag posted up @Chicano Park)

WOW!

What a great weekend, so much to do and so little time, right now I'm tired but I'm running on a natural high so it's all good.  I had familia in town, Chicano Park's 40th Anniversary, The X-Man's Sunday Morning Menudo & Benjamin Bratt on the radio show.

(Klique c.c @The X-Man's Sunday menudo)

I met so many listeners and had so much fun.  I feel blessed to be living and I thank you for being apart of my life.  Please check out the fotos in the gallery section under "Chicano Park" & "X-Man's Sunday menudo".

Remember God loves YOU,

So this past weekend, I get an email from Lil Rob with a song he said he's been working on just for me. After hearing the song I decided to share it with you, I dig how he used Joe Bataan's "I wish you love", one of my favorite firme oldies. This morning, while working in the office I decided to play with my NEW FlipVideo and put something together just for fun. I'll redo it later with better footage but I like it so much I wanted to share it with you. Enjoy and special thanks to Lil Rob for hooking it up.

God Bless,

(Super Heros to the rescue: Me & the kids)

As a kid, I always loved Super Heros.  I wanted to be the Incredible HULK so bad, he was different and not everyone understood him plus he was strong as heck & could practically beat anyone.  Growing up, I always felt "I marched to the beat of my own drum" because I was a little different from my peers in school and never really followed anybody.  I guess you could say I just did what I felt and had a fun time doing it.  Thanks to my parents who always encouraged me to do what I wanted to do, my father, a little less because he was all about good grades and going to college, my mother was more on the "do what you love mijo" but both were equally supportive.

I'm lucky, my parents never discourage me from playing drums, collecting music, or doing what ever I wanted to do. Most of my free time as a youth was either banging on the drums or listening to music(I know it drove them crazy but they never said a word).   Some years later, I still feel lucky & blessed, I'm connected with music through my radio shows and every once in a while you can catch me in the garage playing the Tama Swing Star with the music of "The Police".

God Bless,

Xavier

WHY DID HE HAVE TO DIE TO GANG VIOLENCE?

6-year-old Azahel Cruz died when a stray bullet struck him while he was walking from his living room to the kitchen.

When I first read reports about this my heart just dropped and I couldn't help fight back the tears.  I couldn't even imagine this happening to my son.  It breaks my heart but I have mix emotions right now because I feel for his family & friends but I'm also angry about the gang violence that's in the neighborhood.  Please pray for him and his family.  RIP Azahel.

DONATIONS forAzahel Cruz! The Cruz family is accepting donations to the following Chase Bank account: 895481844. The account is under the name Maria Alcantar, Azahel’s mother.

God Bless,

Xavier

My friend Volo aka Dustin Pedder is a very talented photographer who I met many years ago.  He's the person who shot my famous "DJ jock card", the one with my '63 in the background.  I often get compliments on the shot and well it's all because of Volo.  I was a big fan of his work even before we met, his pictures tell a story and well like the saying goes pictures are worth a thousand words,

Please enjoy this clip of an up coming Doc on Volo and his work.  I think you'll become a fan too once you see it.

Stay Firme,

Xavier
